GENTLE, SAFE PEDIATRIC ADJUSTMENTS FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES

At Discover Chiropractic, pediatric chiropractic care is designed to be gentle, specific, and appropriate for a child’s age and stage of development. Rather than treating children like smaller adults, we take time to understand their health history, movement, posture, and overall function before making any recommendations. Our goal is to support healthy spinal motion and nervous system function using light, precise techniques that are tailored to each individual child.

Because children’s bodies are constantly growing and adapting, the type of care they receive should reflect those changes. Pediatric adjustments typically use significantly less force than traditional adult adjustments and may involve gentle, instrument-assisted or hands-on techniques depending on the child’s needs and comfort level. We also take time to explain what we are doing and make the experience as comfortable as possible for both children and parents.

Infants and Children

Many parents explore pediatric chiropractic as part of a more holistic approach when their child is experiencing concerns such as frequent ear infections, difficulty sleeping, digestive issues, colic or fussiness, headaches, posture changes, sensory challenges, or attention and regulation concerns such as ADHD. At Discover Chiropractic, we don’t claim to diagnose or treat these conditions through chiropractic care. Instead, we look at the child’s spine, movement, and nervous system function and provide gentle, age-appropriate chiropractic care when appropriate. For many families, chiropractic is one part of a broader wellness approach alongside their child’s pediatric and medical care.

FAQs

+ How does chiropractic benefit children?

Think of the spine as not just a collection of bones, muscles, and ligaments, but instead as an entire neurological “organ” that is the key communication highway between the brain and body. When the brain and body can communicate well, kids can adapt to their surroundings better. Adapting is a key word, and why Chiropractic is so helpful to kids.

Especially kids who struggle with:

  • Sensory problems
  • Hyperactivity (ADHD)
  • Immunity struggles
  • Digestive Challenges
  • And more

+ Do adjustments for children hurt?

The nervous system of a child is more sensitive than that of an adult. Thus, kids’ adjustments are different than adult adjustments. Our doctros are trained and certified in gentle, neurologically focused ways to adjust kids from newborn all the way to teenager.
